Our Year 12 2018 – That’s a Wrap
For Year 12 students, the school year is officially completed. Across the country, Year 12’s will experience a blend of emotions; happily leaving behind yearbook photos and late nights spent in additional study. It is also a time of excitement, planning and preparation as each student adjusts to life as a young adult, transitioning into the community as tertiary students whilst others take their first steps of their career in the workforce. Other students are considering the benefits of taking a ‘gap year’ to travel abroad, weighing up options in further studies or entry into workforce.
This year, Edinburgh College students have had the choice of academic pathways with subjects in VCE (including Biology, Chemistry, Business Management/Accounting and Legal Studies) whilst others have chosen a more practical pathway undertaking combined VCE/VET studies to complete their Year 12 Certificate. Year 12 VCE Coordinator and Careers Adviser Kristen Judd said,

‘After all these years of learning together it is with pride that we release our Year 12 cohort into the world. The Class of 2018 will be remembered for their skills in leadership. Their class motto, ‘Watch Us’, has aptly described their approach to being involved in school activities throughout this year. With their motto in mind, we remember the adventures we had as we look forward to new adventures still to come’.

Head of Secondary, Mrs. Anastazya Ferry said of this year’s cohort:

‘It is fantastic to see this year’s graduating class raise the bar in terms of leaving a legacy.  We value the addition that 2018’s cohort has made to the culture of our College.’

Bright futures

With great results in previous years and a high track record of attaining preferences, Edinburgh College students face the prospect of bright futures. With a values-based education supporting their efforts, our students are sought after in the workplace for their participation and excellence in extra-curricular activities through internationally recognised awards. The Duke of Edinburgh award has partnerships with a number of employers who recognise work-ready candidates with experience and skills from participation in award activities, such as team-building and leadership.

Edinburgh College has strong partnerships with local tertiary providers including Box Hill TAFE and Swinburne University for students continuing their study locally.

Alumni program awaits

Our graduates can also look forward to participating in the Alumni program. Since its inception, Edinburgh College has graduated hundreds of successful students and this year sees the launch of the Alumni program, with members receiving invitation to annual gatherings, opportunities, benefits and awards. We look forward to keeping in contact with all of our graduating students and stay up to date with their achievements.

Our Year 12 students for 2018 are invited to register at our Alumni page.
