Year 12 students visited the Yakult Factory Corporate campus in Dandenong South in Week 10 as part of VCE Business Studies.
As a well-recognised brand worldwide, Yakult manufactures probiotic drinks and distributes throughout Australia and New Zealand from a single site in Dandenong. Students visited the plant to consolidate learning about Operations Management within a thriving global business. In manufacturing where products or services are produced, Operations Management forms a critical part of the business model.
Students heard from the tour guide, Ms. Tan who gave a tour of the plant, demonstrating how Yakult successfully applies processes that have been discussed in a class environment throughout the term.
“This excursion allowed students to develop their understanding of concepts presented in class. They were provided the opportunity to understand how Yakult manages its operations and asked relevant questions of the staff.” ~ Martin Kane, VCE Business Management and Accounting Teacher
